Roy Bailey-executive Producer
In 1974, while attending Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, I was called as the minister of music at Central Heights Baptist Church in Sunnyslope, AZ, just north of Phoenix. A few months later after the minister of youth left, I was named the minister of youth as well. Right after I arrived, a group of four young people came and presented a musical called “Jonah and the Fish”. One of those four was the person who wrote the musical, Ken Flowers. I was so blessed that I asked Ken for a copy of the script and permission to do it, which he willingly gave at no charge except that anytime it was done, it had to be done for the glory of our Lord, which I willingly agreed to. That was almost 51 years ago. WOW! That’s almost unbelievable. I don’t remember how many times over the years that I have produced this musical. Nor do I know how many others that we shared it with have performed it (with permission and with the same charge that was given to me). I have personally seen the effect it has had on so many lives and I know that there are others that I have not seen. I do know that God has seen and made an accounting of everything. Not only has He seen but He knows my heart as I do it. If my desire, my motives, MY HEART, is to glorify Him, to exalt Him and to please Him, then when it is refined by His refining fire, then it will be purified like gold. Then I will hear “Well done thou good and faithful servant,” I absolutely want to hear that from my Lord. After all these years, I was thinking that maybe I had lost the effectiveness and maybe is was outdated, even though I had revised the script, (with permission) and updated it over the years. I thought that maybe it was time to retire it. That was until my granddaughter, Destiny, came to me and asked “When are we going to do Jonah again? I chuckled and said “Oh, I don’t know. Less than a week later another granddaughter, Lily asked, “When are we going to do Jonah again?” I said “Ok Lord, you have my attention. At 72 years old, I had begun to think that I had lost my effectiveness as well. God showed me that just like this musical, He would say when it was done. That was not my choice, it is His. So, having said all that, I am so honored and blessed to announce that we will be doing the revised version of, “JONAH AND THE FISH”. As soon as this was decided, God provided what we needed to make this our best effort ever for His glory. Our set director, Dennis Hopwood, our costume director, Dawn Hopwood, and our prop director (who is also our stage manager), Sean Romero, have done an excellent job of putting everything together. The Glorybound Gospel Group, the band, is preparing our songs and the cast are learning their lines and following direction. One of my greatest desires over all these years, was to be able to film it professionally because so many people wanted to share it with others. Until now, that has not been possible. We have a professional videographer, Jay Bailey, who will be producing our film “Jonah and the Fish”.
I am so excited, God’s not done with me yet. I still have a purpose!
Watch for postings of performances and locations and keep November 8, 2025 reserved for our performance and filming at the Fiesta Area in Kennedy Park, Tucson, AZ.

Dennis Hopwood-Sound Director/Board Director
My name is Dennis Hopwood. I have been doing sound most of my life. I started in church when I was roughly 10 years old. An old sound system located under the pulpit only running about four microphones. Coming from a musical background it was only natural to take up running sound. I did my first solo in church when I was only four years old. I, as my father before me, have been very active singing in church my whole life. I started designing and building sound systems when I was about 15 years old.
It was completely by God’s design that I began working with Glorybound Gospel Music Productions. You see, it was always my heart’s desire to serve God wherever he led me. I was running sound one Sunday morning for church when we had a gospel group come in to perform. That gospel group was headed up by Mr. Eddie Flint. Ed approached me after church that day to see if I would be interested in working with a group running their live sound. As I told him that morning wherever God leads me, I am more than willing to go. It was that week that my dad got a phone call from his long-time best friend from high school. Roy Bailey had called my dad to ask if I did sound. I am happy to say that was in 2005 and I have been running sound with Roy Bailey and the Glorybound Gospel Music Productions group ever since. I manage their website and do video and sound recording also.

Terry Bailey-Recording and Studio Director
I grew up in a musical family and was raised in the spirit of God. I remember sitting in the congregation watching and listening as my mother and grandmother would sing and knowing I wanted to be a part of this. As I grew, I was encouraged to learn the trumpet in school. In my heart, all I could think of was playing for the Lord in church. One day about 5th grade i was given that very opportunity, I was so happy and proud that Sunday as i stood and played ” Victory in Jesus ” I knew this was my calling. As I continued to grow in Christ, He started blessing me with an ability and aptitude for instruments, all was used to glorify my Lord. In the early 1990’s with my uncle, aunt, and a few close friends, we formed a small band, and started praising God with music. God had given me my heart’s desire. Jumping forward, I had returned to Tucson in 1999 after being away for a number of years, to find that God Blessed and expanded my uncles desire for music by providing a studio. Now I just needed to have patience to see where I could be used. My prayers were answered the same year with the arrival of a beautiful soul named Gail Lynn. God has blessed her with three songs she had wrote but needed help putting music to her work. I agreed to help, I never imagined what God would do using the ability he had given me. I took over in 2019 as the director of Glorybound Studio, not sure of a direction God wanted me to go in. So once again patience was the answer. I started recording tracks for my own use, and the answer came. Share this with the one who started it all for me, my mother. I have received so many blessing from God creating an album for her and had the privilege of singing with her. and released her first album after a year of recording, titled “Together we are Glorybound “.
All gospel performers of every level are welcome, and I can be contacted through the Glorybound website, come as you are and God will bless. I have many instruments available, and if needed will accompany you so that you receive what God has laid on your heart.
